Background
Pacific Community Ventures Investment Partners I and II, managed by Pacific Community Ventures, Inc. (a 501(c)3 organization), channel institutional investment money into private companies that demonstrate the potential to build successful businesses and create jobs and economic growth in California. PCV seeks double bottom line returns, meaning both financial return (measured in terms of IRR) and social return (measured primarily in terms of the number and quality and jobs provided to low-income individuals). PCV helps companies in traditionally overlooked areas gain access to capital, business advice, and critical business resources that will accelerate company growth.

Social Mission
Pacific Community Ventures provides resources and capital to companies that have the potential to bring significant economic gains to low-income communities throughout California. PCV invests in companies with strong business models that provide good jobs with marketable skills and wealth-building opportunities to residents of California’s low- to moderate-income communities.

Investment Information
The Funds invest between $500,000 and $1 million in mid to later-stage non-technology businesses that are located in and/or hiring from low-income communities throughout California. These businesses are led by experienced management teams, have annual revenues of at least $5 million and established operating histories as well as clear paths for growth and increased profitability. Additionally, these businesses employ 10 to 100 residents of low-income communities in jobs that pay living wages (an average wage of $10.51/hour in the Bay Area, but adjustable by geography throughout California) and provide a combination of health benefits, skill development, and access to wealth-creation vehicles. These businesses must also have the potential to hire more residents of low-income communities as these businesses grow. Pacific Community Ventures Investment Partners focus investments in the following industry sectors: food products and distribution, value-added manufacturing, business services, and specialty consumer products.
