Background
The Wisconsin Rural Enterprise Fund was formed through partnerships with rural cooperatives, local economic development organizations and financial institutions and is managed by the Northwest Regional Planning Commission and Wisconsin Business Innovation Corporation.

Social Mission
To foster new market, higher wage jobs, and economic diversification throughout rural Wisconsin where there is typically a lack of venture capital.

Investment Information
The Fund focuses on Wisconsin's 10 northwest counties, but will consider investments in other rural areas of the state. The Fund invests primarily in early stage science-based agriculture and high-tech wood products companies but has made investments outside these areas in the past and will consider doing so in the future. Investment sizes typically range from $25,000 to $300,000.
