CDVCA’s 2005 Annual Conference was held on March 14-16, 2005 at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The event was a great success, with more than 160 funders, CDVC fund managers,

practitioners, students, and members of the press in attendance. Attendees hailed from 31 U.S. states, and international destinations from Sri Lanka to Scotland.

The 2005 conference featured the unique perspectives of the spectrum of investors in the CDVC industry, opportunities to meet with policymakers, a hard look at measuring impacts in our industry, and a new case study format featuring challenges faced by investment fund managers.

Breakout sessions at the 2005 Annual Conference included: Structuring Deals and Negotiating Term Sheets; CDVC Investors; Measuring Social Return on Investment; Early Results of the New Markets Venture Capital Program; Exiting to Achieve Strong Financial and Social Returns; The Family of Funds Model; Adding Financial and Social Value to Portfolio Companies; and Finding Investment Opportunities in Your Community.
